Every farm has that one animal who changes you. For us, that was Rising Phoenix — affectionately known as Monkey.

Phoenix was born with poor leg structure, and from her very first days she needed extra care, extra time, and extra love. We gave it all willingly. She rewarded us a thousandfold. With patience and determination, she grew into a stunning show llama who earned championship titles in both halter and performance — a rare and remarkable achievement that reflected not just her beauty, but her spirit.

She was our heart animal. She passed away a while ago, and there is not a day she isn’t missed.

Her fleece was as extraordinary as she was — 100% llama, silky beyond belief, with a natural blend of red-brown and white that is unlike anything we have seen before or since. You cannot look at this fiber without wanting to run it through your fingers. This yarn is handspun right here on our farm, two ply, and every yard of it carries her memory.

When these skeins are gone, they are gone forever. There will never be another Phoenix.
